The premium exterior wash, iron and fallout decontamination, clay bar, machine polish and paint touch-ups are all part of the price. The final figure is confirmed by vehicle size and paint condition once we have seen it.

02What the price covers

A coating is only as good as the paint under it.

So we do not sell the prep separately. Every coating booking includes the full job, start to finish.

  1. Premium exterior wash

    Wheels, arches and tyres first, then a foam soak and contact wash so nothing abrasive gets dragged across the paint later.

  2. Iron and fallout decontamination

    Dissolves the embedded brake dust and industrial fallout a wash cannot reach.

  3. Clay bar

    Pulls out what is left bonded to the paint until it is glass-smooth.

  4. Machine polish

    A single-stage cut and polish with a dual-action polisher to take out swirls, light scratches and oxidation before anything is sealed in.

  5. Touch-ups

    Small chips and blemishes addressed as part of the prep, not billed on top.

  6. The coating

    Applied panel by panel and levelled by hand. Keep the car dry for 24 hours, first proper wash after about a week.

03The problem

Why paint here needs more than wax.

Cars around Moreton Bay cop it. Salt air off the water at Wellington Point, a full day of sun in an uncovered car park at Capalaba, and the slow grind up Old Cleveland Road behind whatever the truck in front is throwing at you. Paint that never gets protected stops looking new in about two summers.

Wax and supermarket spray sealants help, but they are soft, thin and mostly gone inside a few weeks. A ceramic coating is a liquid that cures into a hard, clear layer bonded to your clear coat. It stands up to UV, detergent and droppings far better, and water beads and runs off instead of drying into spots.

What you actually notice.

  • Gloss with depth: colour looks deeper and reflections read sharp, because the paint was corrected first. Dark cars change the most.
  • Water beading that keeps working: rain pulls into tight beads and sheets off, so the car dries faster and spots less.
  • UV and contaminant resistance: droppings, sap and road film sit on the coating instead of biting into the clear coat.
  • Easier washes and stronger resale: dirt lets go with far less effort, and swirl-free paint presents better when you sell.

Durability and what it costs

The coating we use is a professional retail-line product, not an installer-only system that comes with a five or nine year certificate. It performs, it looks superb and it is genuinely tough, but it is not permanent and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

Realistically you are looking at around 12 to 24 months of solid protection, depending on how the car is washed, whether it lives outside and how many highway kilometres it does. Look after it and it goes the distance. Run it through a service station brush wash every second weekend and it will not.

Worth knowing first

  • Deep scratches: if it catches your fingernail, a single-stage polish may not fully remove it. We tell you that before we start, not after.
  • Not sure you need it: the hydrophobic sealant included in a Premium detail gives you months of beading for a lot less money. We would rather point that out than sell you something you do not need.
  • Keeping it: our maintenance program holds a coated car at standard from $75 a visit. Foam first, then a rinse, so grit is gone before a mitt touches the paint.

Common questions

How long does a ceramic coating really last?
Around 12 to 24 months with normal care. We use a professional retail-line coating, not an installer-only system, so we will never quote you five or nine years. Hand washing with a pH neutral shampoo, drying properly and staying out of automatic brush washes is what gets you to the top of that range.
Do I need a paint correction before the coating?
Yes, in some form. The coating seals the paint exactly as it is, so we always decontaminate and machine polish first with a dual-action polisher. Scratches deep enough to catch a fingernail may not fully come out, and we will tell you that up front.
How much does ceramic coating cost?
From $690 for a small car up to around $1,050 for a large 4WD or van, and all of the prep is included in that figure. The final price is confirmed by vehicle size and paint condition. Standalone paint correction runs from $450 to $720 if you want the paint corrected without a coating.
Can you do it at my house or workplace?
Yes. We are fully mobile across Brisbane and the Redlands, we bring the gear and a canopy, and we use your outdoor tap and power point. We just need a flat spot with roughly a metre or two clear around the car. Weather reschedules are free.
How do I wash the car once it is coated?
Two buckets, a pH neutral shampoo, a clean microfibre mitt, and dry it rather than letting it air dry in the sun. Avoid brush washes and cutting compounds. If you would rather not deal with it, our maintenance program keeps a coated car right from $75 a visit.
